Objectives

  • review examples of Texas Medical Board sanctions and the applicable rules for physicians;
  • describe the ramifications of medical board sanctions on physicians; and
  • apply to practice the TMB regulations regarding supervision and delegation, medical records, and prescribing.

Speaker

Dan Ballard, JD is a partner with Ballard, Simmons, Bell-Moss and Jasper, LLP. He received a BA with honors from the University of Texas and a JD with honors from the University of Texas School of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1983. Mr. Ballard has spoken extensively on risk management, medical malpractice defense, and Medical Board issues to physicians throughout the state.
